2024 Goals.

So, as I realized a little while ago, I think it’s more helpful to track your progress and set your goals, and not the other way around. The goals are static, the progress is dynamic, and to say one must read a given amount of pages, just generally, each day is setting a progress and not tracking progress.

That said, I have many book goals set for 2024. I have a whole calendar going, actually. I’m sad to be leaving the numerology of 2023, which was 7, a good year. 8, I heard, is the Christ number, so who knows, but I also have had the feeling of incompletion, by 2, with an 8. Anyway, I have a goal to read Atlas Shrugged in the first week of January, as part of a Fiction Book Week that will be at least during a part of the first week of each month, and then The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy, as part of the Nonfiction, on the second week. The third week of each month is an off-week, and then the fourth week is the Short Story Week, with in this case Nightmares & Dreamscapes being the book, for the first part of the Year, the first Month. The third week will have Shakespeare Thursday, on each month, and this first month, I will be watching either a movie or a play version (whatever is full, or at least closest, to . . . well, whatever is Full) of Hamlet. The poet of the month is Robert Frost, a good one to start it off With. I will look to read one of his poems, a Day. I also have Monday, Tuesday, and Friday as my Exercise days, each week. Saturday as My clean-your-room day. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays as my Video-posting days. Tuesdays and Thursdays, as the blog. (This doesn’t mean, I won’t post on other days, but that I will Post, on those days.)

I didn’t realize that, even having the Book, that Atlas Shrugged was at 1,088 pages, when I made this list . But I think I can do it, if I really work to read the damn book, and in this case, it’s not a Goal, but a tracker metric, to say that if I am reading about one hundred and Twenty pages of it a day, I am at a good pace, but when I will have to, Still will have to, Read more by like 50 pages, every day. Also, I vow to get, a better job.
