So, this is going to be my preparation for the reading week ahead: I start my weeks on Monday, because starting them on Sunday is bullshit. Sunday is the last day of the Week, and it always has been. And so on this last day of the week, which is actually my Tuesday and then the beginning of my Wednesday work nights, and this week I guess more like my Wednesday, and the beginning of my Thursday, I will set out my Monday through Sunday, Right here with you.

Monday/Tuesday: Read “Graveyard Shift,” by Stephen King (Night Shift). Preferably in one sitting, but if not, that’s fine. (Monday: Five poems from Robert Frost, preferably one collection’s. Tuesday: Five poems from Sylvia Plath, preferably one.)
Wednesday/Thursday: Read “Barn Burning,” by William Faulkner. Same. (Wednesday: Five poems, Tony Hoagland. Same. Thursday: Five poems, Yusef Komunyakaa.)
Friday/Saturday: Reading “The Depressed Person,” by David Foster Wallace (re-read, of the Story). (Friday: Five poems by Edgar Allen Poe. Same. Saturday: Five poems by John Ashbury. Same.)
Sunday: No story assigned, five poems by Sylvia Plath. Same.
