Most Acrobatic Rappers would be an interesting list to have. While poets often (or always, I guess) strive for a magical cadence or at least something solid, some rappers seem to be able to take on different shapes in the air, by themselves.

Black Thought comes to mind. I first saw him transform on “X-Ecutioner Style” by Linkin Park, and he just has the most Top Gun: Maverick–style verse, mixed with The Transformers. He comes off like a Metallica song full of rhythm in his appearances on the Roots albums. He is just one of the best rappers, whenever he raps. Similar for other semi-independent-seeming rappers, like Mos Def and Talib Kweli, I suppose, to name an actual duo, of them. Not a bad set of rappers in the semi-mainstream community.

Then you move further into the corner and you get people like Canibus and Jedi Mind Tricks, rapping their hearts out like they were Li’l Waynes that never ended. Not that either have had perfect careers, but whwn they hit it, they hit it good.
